Behind our new Flower Child Pieces

Hello to you all! Thank you for being here and taking the time to read our latest blog post.

We wanted to give you a little insight into our Flower Child collection; from the design to choosing the fabric and then importantly...why we've priced these a little higher than previous styles.

Firstly - these pieces have been a long time coming! We've been working on these since May this year. Generally a garment does take a long time to create. From having the print designed, to deciding on the design and the silhouette to put the print into, to sampling, strike off and approving to bulk.

From there we organise the photography, the marketing and getting our styles online.

These pieces have taken that little bit longer as we've been navigating these strange covid times alongside our supplier.

About the print...

This print has been exclusively designed by our talented textile artist; Olivia Walter. Olivia and I worked together many moons ago and when I first started my clothing label, I reached out to her to design our first ever print (Floral border)!

Since then, we've collaborated on many of our prints, including this beauty!

This print is made up of random floral shapes and features a deep floral border which includes larger shapes from within the print. It's been a labor of love right from the beginning.

About the styles...

We wanted to launch our first ever top using this amazing print! We came up with our pin tuck blouse design after much trial and error. It first began as a long sleeve style and ended up as a short sleeve style.

This beauty also includes gathering at the sleeve head to add that extra fullness and a bit of difference. we hope you love it!

About the price...

Covid has hit China hard! It's hit the entire world hard as we all well know, but exporting from reputable makers has become more expensive as our suppliers work harder to meet the demand.

Costs of making garments has increased as wages increase in China, which we're all for! We love that our supplier is WRAP certified which means they uphold world recognised working conditions and standards for their employees. You can read more about this via the following link:

In addition to make costs increasing, freight costs have also increased. We'd be discrediting ourselves if we didn't increase our prices to cover these costs.

We stand by our quality 100% and are so proud of the garments being produced by our partners. We also want to stand the test of time as a clothing label continuing to go from strength to strength. In order to continue to do what we love to do, we need to increase the costs of our pieces to ensure we're able to meet the costs of running our little business.

Here are a few more sneak peeks of the pieces to come!

We are so excited to bring you these new pieces and we hope that you love them just as much as we've loved designing them and bringing them to you!

Much love and light, Bec xx
